Job summary

The Leading Cardiovascular Group in Las Vegas is seeking a skilled Cardiac Device Specialist (CDS) to join our team. This role focuses on managing Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs), supporting Electrophysiology and Cardiology services.

Job description

Nevada Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a skilled and motivated Cardiac Device Specialist (CDS) to join our Cardiac Device Clinic team. This highly specialized role supports Electrophysiology and Cardiology services by providing expert technical and clinical management of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) in an ambulatory setting.

The ideal candidate is clinically confident, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating closely with physicians, leadership, device representatives, and patients. This position plays a critical role in ensuring optimal device performance, accurate arrhythmia interpretation, and exceptional patient care.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-office and remote interrogation, analysis, and programming of cardiac implantable devices
  • Monitor and manage daily remote device alerts and transmissions
  • Troubleshoot device issues and resolve failed remote transmissions
  • Interpret complex cardiac device data and rhythms with clinical accuracy
  • Collaborate with electrophysiologists, cardiologists, and leadership to support patient care and clinic operations
  • Educate patients and families on implanted cardiac devices, expectations, and ongoing management
  • Serve as a liaison between physicians, patients, and device representatives
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with clinical standards and HIPAA regulations
  • Support clinic operations including scheduling, billing coordination, filing, and patient triage
  • Maintain clinic schedules across multiple locations
  • Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental projects
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to operational efficiencies
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct experience in cardiac device management or aligned training with demonstrated proficiency
  • Strong competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Working knowledge of cardiac device technology and remote monitoring platforms
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (Word, spreadsheets, email)
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, physicians, and internal teams
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related clinical field
  • Graduation from a recognized Cardiac Device Technology or Cardiac Electrophysiology program
  • IBHRE certification or certification from a nationally recognized cardiac device organization
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory cardiology or electrophysiology clinic
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and by phone
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for clinical documentation and patient interaction
  • Ability to use standard office equipment (computer, copier, phone, fax)
  • Occasional light lifting (up to 20 lbs) and local travel as needed
