Mercy Medical Group is seeking a Cardiac Critical Care Intensivist to join our distinguished critical care program at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento. You will provide advanced care within a 20-bed CSICU and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team focused on high-acuity patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be board-certified or board-eligible in Critical Care Medicine with fellowship in cardiac critical care or related fields, and experience with Impella, LVAD, and ECMO.

• Fellowship in Cardiac Critical Care, Surgical Critical Care, or Anesthesia Critical Care desirable.
• Experience with mechanical circulatory support (Impella, LVAD, ECMO).
• CA license active or eligible.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a dedicated Cardiac Critical Care Intensivist, you will join Mercy Medical Group (https://www.commonspirit.org/physician-enterprise/mercy-medical-group) , a premier multi-specialty group in the Sacramento region, playing a pivotal role in our esteemed critical care program at Mercy General Hospital.

You will provide specialized care within our state-of-the-art 20-bed Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU), contributing to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to clinical innovation and high-acuity patient outcomes. This role offers the unique opportunity to manage complex cardiac cases while enjoying the professional autonomy and collaborative support that defines our practice.

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly skilled, collaborative physician with a passion for critical care, a commitment to advanced cardiac therapeutics, and a desire to excel in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

• Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients within the 20-bed CSICU.
• Manage complex mechanical circulatory support, including Impella, LVAD, and ECMO, in a high-acuity setting.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists to optimize patient outcomes and advance cardiac critical care standards.
• Participate in the growth and clinical development of the cardiac surgical intensive care program.

Job Requirements

Required:

• Board-certified or board-eligible MD or DO in Critical Care Medicine
• Fellowship training in Cardiac Critical Care, Surgical Critical Care, or Anesthesia Critical Care is highly desirable
• Experience with Mechanical Circulatory Support (Impella, LVAD, ECMO)
• Advanced Heart Failure Cardiology candidates with critical care experience will be considered
• Active or eligible license in the state of California
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in a team-based, patient-focused environment
