Job summary

ThedaCare is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide patient-centered, evidence-based care in a team-based setting at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Appleton. Under supervision, you will assist with exams, document vital signs, and support care transitions during the clinic day.

Schedule is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays. The role emphasizes compassionate care, safety, and professional collaboration with physicians, nurses, and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid certification or registration through AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA or a Wisconsin LPN license.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Receives and executes orders from the supervising physician or advanced practice clinician.
• Rooms the patient, obtains and documents vital signs and health information, validates medication reconciliation, and prepares patient for examination.
• Assists in meeting the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the care team to ensure quality, cost-effective and safe patient care practices.
• Addresses patient concerns and needs to ensure satisfaction and safety.
• Reinforces patient education to improve care outcomes and safe patient practices.
• Assists the provider/RN in performing and documenting tests and procedures.
• Aids in discharge processes and after-visit summaries, and completion of orders as needed.
• Demonstrates professional relationships with patients, families, team members, and providers.
• Participates in patient panel management and chronic disease tracking interventions.
