Job summary

The Chattanooga Heart Institute, part of CHI Memorial Health Care System, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians and elevate patient care. You will document visits in the EMR, perform ancillary services, and follow physician instructions to ensure efficient patient visits.

As part of the clinical team, you’ll manage documentation, assist with exams and testing, and maintain up-to-date EMR templates for smooth workflow. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED completed.
• Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification on hire.
• CMA certification options upon hire (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NAHP, NHA, MMCI).
• CPR and CMA credentials required upon hire or as listed.

Responsibilities

• Perform and direct patient care services including admission interview, accurate documentation and timely patient flow.
• Ensure priority care is provided to patients in an emergency situation.
• Assist healthcare providers with exams, treatments, procedures and testing as directed.
• Accompany the physician into the exam room for the patient visit documenting in the EMR all aspects of care.
• Work directly with physician to ensure the patient visit is appropriately documented.
• Ensure optimization of physician practice by keeping current with EMR flow and templates.
