Job summary

Optum Heart & Vascular Surgery Center in Las Vegas is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist to join a collaborative cardiovascular team in a fast-paced procedural environment.

You will work with cardiologists, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other clinical professionals to support diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, with a focus on patient safety, clinical quality, efficiency, and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum of one year cath lab experience.
• Current ARRT registration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Working knowledge of radiation safety, sterile technique, and cardiovascular procedural care.
• Ability to operate a C-arm and other cath lab imaging equipment.
• Strong communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate C-arm and cardiovascular imaging equipment during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Assist physicians throughout cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures.
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, supplies, and sterile fields prior to each case.
• Position patients and explain procedures to promote comfort and cooperation.
• Monitor patients during procedures and communicate changes in condition to the clinical team.
• Maintain radiation-safety practices for patients, physicians, and staff.
• Assist with cardiac catheterizations and coronary interventions.
• Support peripheral vascular interventions.
• Assist with cardiac-device implantation procedures when applicable.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection-prevention protocols.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with cardiologists, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other clinical professionals while supporting a variety of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.

What You'll Do

As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will play an important role throughout the procedural process—from preparing the room and patient to assisting physicians during procedures and supporting safe recovery and efficient patient flow.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operate C-arm and cardiovascular imaging equipment during diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Assist physicians throughout cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, supplies, and sterile fields prior to each case
• Properly position patients and explain procedures to promote comfort and cooperation
• Monitor patients during procedures and promptly communicate changes in condition to the clinical team
• Maintain appropriate radiation-safety practices for patients, physicians, and staff
• Serve in the facility's designated radiation-safety capacity when assigned
• Assist with cardiac catheterizations and coronary interventions
• Support peripheral vascular interventions
• Assist with pacemaker, defibrillator, and other cardiac-device implantation procedures, as applicable
• Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-prevention protocols
• Verify proper equipment operation and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns
• Accurately document procedures, supplies, implants, and required clinical information
• Restock procedural areas and assist with inventory and supply management
• Participate in emergency response situations as part of the clinical team
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and support staff to maintain efficient patient flow
• Participate in quality and continuous-improvement initiatives
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and patient-safety standards

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Minimum of one year of documented, verifiable cath lab experience
• Current ARRT registration, as required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Working knowledge of radiation safety, sterile technique, and cardiovascular procedural care
• Demonstrated ability to operate a C-arm and other cath lab imaging equipment
• Strong communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective during urgent and emergency situations

Experience That Will Help You Stand Out

Preferred qualifications include:

• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center or outpatient cardiovascular environment
• Hands-on experience with cardiac catheterizations and coronary interventions
• Experience assisting with pacemaker, defibrillator, or other cardiac-device implants
• Familiarity with Philips imaging and monitoring systems
• RCIS or other advanced cardiac-interventional credentials
• Experience performing scrub, monitoring, and/or circulating functions within a cath lab

Hourly compensation: $34 - $62, depending on experience and qualifications.
