Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse role located in Kansas City, MO. The nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including pre-, intra-, and post-procedure assessments. Daily responsibilities include preparing and monitoring patients and equipment, administering medications, assisting the cardiology team during procedures, and responding to emergent situations. The role involves collaborating with physicians, technologists, and other nursing staff to ensure safe, evidence-based care and accurate documentation. The nurse also educates patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care, while adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in Cardiac Nursing and general Nursing practice in acute or critical care settings.
• Experience working in a Cath Lab environment, including familiarity with cath lab workflows and equipment.
• Hands-on experience with Cardiac Cath procedures and related patient monitoring and recovery.
• Knowledge of Cardiology concepts, cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and common cardiac conditions.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required or obtained within designated timeframe.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills in high-acuity settings.
• Effective communication, teamwork, and patient education skills, with a commitment to safety and quality of care.
• Prior cardiac, critical care, or interventional lab experience preferred; BSN or higher nursing degree beneficial.
