Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• If a graduate from a nursing school that is not accredited, a minimum of five years of acute care nursing experience is required to be considered; or an advanced degree from an accredited school.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree, (BSN), preferred or required within five years from date of hire (MSN enrollment would be accepted in place of BSN for those enrolling in an accelerated program).
• Area specific required education may be obtained upon hire and is to be maintained, e.g. ACLS, BLS, PALS, specialty certification, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care that is patient and family centered.
• Fosters relationship based care and adheres to professional nursing standards.
• Leads unit-based care with collaborative input from healthcare providers, patients and designees.
• Ensures safety and quality through adherence to regulatory guidelines.
