Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Heart and Vascular-Cath Lab to provide direct patient care during noninvasive and invasive cardiovascular procedures. Responsibilities include pre-procedure screening, procedure prep and recovery, and intra-procedural care, with a strong focus on cardiovascular physiology and team collaboration.

The role requires NYS RN licensure, ACLS and BLS, and offers a fast-paced environment with a 4-day, 10-hour shift pattern and STEMI call

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited RN program.
• Current NYS licensure as a registered nurse.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and families; develop care plans with patient-centered goals.
• Plan care prioritizing needs; involve patients and families in goals.
• Demonstrate technical skills; stay current on policies; mentor peers.
• Coordinate with health team; link patients with other disciplines as needed.
• Evaluate care effectiveness; document outcomes.
• Apply critical thinking; initiate treatments and STEMI protocols as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team; ensure radiation safety.
• Shift: 7am–5pm, 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts with after-hours STEMI call.
