Openwork Health is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in Asheville, NC.

The RN will collaborate with physicians and the cath lab team, monitor vitals, administer medications, and educate patients and families on recovery expectations and aftercare. This role emphasizes safety, infection control, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab or similar critical care environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to maintain required certifications and licensure as outlined by facility and state regulations.
• Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic status during procedures, recognizing and responding to any complications.
• Administer medications, including sedatives and contrast agents, as directed by physicians and protocols.
• Assist physicians and the cath lab team with equipment setup, sterile technique, and procedural support.
• Educate patients and their families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and aftercare instructions.
• Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in patient medical records.
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment within the cath lab, adhering to infection control guidelines and industry standards.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and remain current with advancements in cardiac care and technology.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and provide seamless transitions between units.
• Respond to emergencies and provide critical care interventions as needed within the cath lab setting.
