Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Franklin, TN is seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse (RN) to provide direct care for adults undergoing cardiac catheterization and related radiology procedures in a high‑acuity setting.

You will monitor vital signs, maintain accurate records, prepare patients for exams and assist with treatments. Required: at least 1 year of critical care (ICU/ER) and ACLS/BCLS readiness; ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications or progress to within specified timeframes.
• Minimum 1 year of critical care experience (ICU or ER).
• Additional courses in physiology, hemodynamic monitoring, and EKG interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized nursing care for adults undergoing cardiac catheterization and related radiology procedures.
• Provide care during prep and recovery of these patients.
• Perform and monitor specialized cardiac tests on adults and pediatric patients.
• Monitor, record, and report changes in patients' conditions.
• Maintain detailed patient reports and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses.
• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice.Maintains a safe therapeutic environment.Identifiesnursingproblems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient carewhileutilizingan interdisciplinary approach.Participates in performance improvement activities.Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting inchargenurserole, registered nursesare responsible forday-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment.Make staff assignments based on patient need,acuityand the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff.Respond in a timely manner to requests for informationor follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

What you will do in this role:

• As Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab Nurse, you are responsible and accountable for the delivery of individualized nursing care to adult patients having cardiac catheterization procedures as well as care for patients having specialized radiology procedures. This includes both the prep and recovery of these patients.
• You are responsible for specialized cardiac tests performed on adult as well as pediatric patients.
• You will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• You will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• You will record patients' medical information and vital signs and any other patient care.
• You will modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
• You will prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
• Additional courses in physiology and hemodynamic monitoring and EKG interpretation.
• At least 1 year of critical care experience: ICU, ER
