This Cardiac Care RN opportunity is based in Kansas City, MO at a 590-bed regional medical center designated as a Level I Trauma center and home to a comprehensive stroke and STEMI program, a neuroscience institute, a burn center, and a cancer care program. The cardiac telemetry unit serves patients recovering from open heart surgery, heart catheterization with stent placement, ablations, pacemaker and AICD placement, and cardiovascular surgery.
The role. Reporting to the unit's director or nurse manager, the Cardiac Care RN coordinates and delivers individualized nursing care for a diverse and acuity-driven patient population in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. The nurse assumes direct accountability for the full scope of care provided to each assigned patient, applying clinical judgment to identify problems and implement solutions in real time. Care is delivered in alignment with Missouri Nursing Practice Act standards and ANA Standards of Practice. The unit's nurses are expected to continuously advance their knowledge of critically ill cardiac patients and contribute actively to a collaborative, problem-solving team culture.
