Job summary

East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA, part of LCMC Health, seeks fellowship-trained Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join expanding cardiovascular team. Provide perioperative anesthesia for complex cardiothoracic cases, including CABG, valve, and transplant.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Eligible for Louisiana medical licensure.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Additional Critical Care/ICU training or experience preferred.
• Expertise in advanced cardiothoracic anesthesia procedures and perioperative echocardiography preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative anesthesia care for cardiothoracic surgical patients.
• Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and post-anesthesia assessments within established timelines.
• Direct anesthesia and sedation services per standards of care.
• Ensure compliance with patient consent, infection prevention, medication safety, and life-support protocols.
• Supervise and coordinate anesthesia care for assigned patients.
• Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting.

Join a Growing Advanced Cardiothoracic Program East Jefferson General Hospital, part of LCMC Health, is seeking a fellowship-trained Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our expanding cardiovascular anesthesia team. As our cardiothoracic surgery program continues to grow, candidates will have the opportunity to support a broad range of complex procedures, from routine CABG and valve surgeries to heart and lung transplantation. Position Highlights

• Monitoring, inspecting, and ensuring readiness of anesthesia equipment
• Collaborating with surgeons, intensivists, CRNAs, nursing, and multidisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

Required

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
• Eligible for Louisiana medical licensure
• Current BLS and ACLS certification

Preferred

• Additional Critical Care/ICU training or experience
• Expertise in advanced cardiothoracic anesthesia procedures and perioperative echocardiography
