Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a part-time Car Porter in Kansas City, MO. The role entails moving and parking vehicles at an automotive auction, organizing lots and assisting customers and staff. Schedule is Tue and Thu 7:30 am–11:30 am, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour. Prioritizes safety, reliability, and good attendance while supporting daily auction operations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and move vehicles safely throughout the auction property.
  • Park and stage vehicles in designated areas.
  • Locate and organize vehicles for auction events and pickup.
  • Assist with vehicle line-up and staging.
  • Check keys, paperwork and basic vehicle information.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle locations and follow procedures.
  • Follow safety rules and keep areas organized and hazard-free.

Location: Kansas City, MO

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday 7:30 am - 11:30 am

We are looking for dependable, safety-focused Car Porters to join our team at a busy automotive auction. Car Porters are responsible for moving, parking, staging, and organizing vehicles throughout the auction facility while helping ensure vehicles are in the correct location and ready for sale.

This is a fast-paced, physically active position that is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating vehicles, or who is looking for a weekly part-time job!

Job Duties
  • Drive and move vehicles safely throughout the auction property
  • Park and stage vehicles in designated areas
  • Locate and organize vehicles for auction events and customer pickup
  • Assist with vehicle line-up and staging
  • Check vehicles for keys, paperwork, and basic identifying information
  • Maintain accurate vehicle locations and follow auction procedures
  • Assist customers and auction personnel as needed
  • Follow all facility safety rules and traffic procedures
  • Keep parking and staging areas organized and free of hazards
  • Perform other general auction and vehicle-lot duties as assigned
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred unless otherwise specified.
  • Additional education, certifications, or vocational training may be beneficial depending on the position.
Experience Requirements
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, professionalism, and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to learn new processes, procedures, equipment, or software as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to safely drive a variety of passenger vehicles, SUVs, and light trucks
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions

Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently walk across a large vehicle lot
