Job summary

POLITICO is seeking exceptional college students and recent graduates for its Spring 2027 reporting internship in Tallahassee. You will report from the Capitol on Florida politics, covering the legislative session and the newly elected governor.

Responsibilities include researching, writing and aggregating for newsletters, and contributing to enterprise reporting for both state and national audiences. Hybrid, full-time 40 hours per week, January–May 2027, pay $23/hour.

Qualifications

• Passion for politics/policy and interest in Florida politics.
• Strong reporting and writing foundations.
• Excellent news judgment.
• Ability to work quickly under deadlines.
• Entrepreneurial mindset for proactive work.
• At least one newsroom internship or job preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cover legislation, lawmakers, the governor, state agencies and Florida politics.
• Contribute to story creation and production, including research and newsletters.
• Report for both in-state and national audiences as part of a dynamic team.
