Job summary

The Office of Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger in Maryland offers a part-time internship that provides hands-on experience in a congressional office. Interns will assist with day-to-day operations, casework, and events while building professional writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities include drafting letters, processing mail, answering phones, greeting visitors, and supporting staff; interns may travel to Washington, DC for tours and meetings later in the term.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a college degree or have attained a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day office operations and administrative tasks.
• Support caseworkers with ongoing cases in Social Security, Veterans Affairs, immigration, and federal contracts.
• Draft letters and process mail; answer phones and greet visitors.
• Attend events with staff and participate in ribbon-cutting and Eagle Scout ceremonies.
• Travel to Washington, DC for Capitol tour and lunch with the Congressman toward the end of the internship.
