Call Your Mother is hiring a Capital Purchasing and Logistics Manager based in Washington, DC. You will ensure items needed to open new CYM shops are sourced, ordered, tracked, and delivered on schedule, collaborating with Design, Construction, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, vendors, and General Contractors.

You can help the company grow by building strong vendor relationships, finding better pricing, and creating purchasing processes across an expanding pipeline of shops.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in purchasing, procurement, or sourcing, ideally for restaurant, retail, construction, or other location openings.

Responsibilities

• Build a purchasing plan for each new shop using approved specifications, budgets, construction schedules, and required delivery dates.
• Source and purchase owner-provided equipment, furniture, lighting, signage, décor, and other capital items. Verify quantities, pricing, and approvals before issuing purchase orders.
• Lead competitive bids and negotiate pricing, terms, and service expectations in partnership with Supply Chain.
• Maintain the purchasing schedule for every active project, tracking orders, costs, lead times, shipping, delivery, and installation status.
• Follow up with vendors throughout production and shipping so delays are identified before they affect construction or opening day.
• Coordinate deliveries with vendors, Construction, and General Contractors based on site readiness. Resolve damaged, missing, or incorrect items.
• Track purchasing commitments and costs against approved budgets, and flag changes or risks to Construction and Finance.
• Strengthen vendor relationships and improve purchasing standards, tools, and processes as CYM grows.

WE’RE HIRING A CAPITAL PURCHASING AND LOGISTICS MANAGER, BASED IN WASHINGTON, DC!

Our Capital Purchasing and Logistics Manager makes sure the items we need to open new CYM shops are sourced, ordered, tracked, and delivered when the project needs them. You’ll work with Design, Construction, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, vendors, and General Contractors to keep purchasing costs and timelines visible across multiple projects. You’ll also help us get smarter as we grow: building strong vendor relationships, finding better pricing, and creating purchasing processes that work across an expanding pipeline of shops.

YOU'LL CRUSH THIS ROLE IF YOU...

• Have 3+ years experience in purchasing, procurement, or sourcing, ideally for restaurant, retail, construction, or other location openings.
• Know how to compare bids, negotiate with vendors, and manage orders from approved specifications through delivery.
• Can juggle multiple projects and lead times while keeping costs, deadlines, and details straight.
• Are comfortable using spreadsheets and purchasing trackers to give teams a clear picture of what’s ordered, what’s coming, and what needs attention.
• Build strong relationships with vendors and internal partners, and follow through when something goes off track.
• Spot delays and cost changes early, bring solutions, and know when to escape a decision.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands for this position include seeing, hearing, speaking, reading, and communicating effectively; standing, walking, reaching, bending, and performing repetitive physical movements; lifting up to 50 pounds; and safely operating equipment and tools using manual dexterity. This role also requires working in a fast-paced environment around hot equipment, sharp tools, and varying temperatures, and occasionally working in confined spaces.
