Job summary

MAA's Capital Project Manager coordinates large capital improvement and new construction projects and also performs due diligence inspections for potential real estate acquisitions as part of the Physical Assets or Capital Projects team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of construction project management experience.
• Experience inspecting large construction projects.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with mid-rise and high-rise construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel frequently to conduct on-site construction project inspections.
• Attend construction meetings and represent MAA’s interests in discussions.
• Perform interior inspections with general contractors and develop punch lists.
• Perform mechanical inspections on all systems to ensure proper operation.
• Perform exterior inspections to ensure integrity and quality of workmanship.
• Review third-party inspection reports and ensure follow-up and reporting.
• Provide communication between operations, asset management, and contractors.
• Prepare written progress reports for each project.
