Job summary

Solventum in Minnesota is seeking a Capital Project Engineer to lead capital projects from initial estimates through delivery, shaping critical manufacturing and healthcare infrastructure.

You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage scopes, budgets, and schedules, specify equipment performance criteria, and drive competitive bidding and project delivery strategies while ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards. Hybrid work with travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND 3 years of capital project management, process engineering, product engineering and/or manufacturing engineering in a private, public, government or military environment
• OR
• High School Diploma/GED AND 10 years of capital project management, process engineering, product engineering and/or manufacturing engineering in a private, public, government or military environment

Responsibilities

• Developing project estimates, plans and proposals, and coordinating project approvals
• Managing project timelines, scopes, budgets, construction activity, and personnel to successfully deliver to approved project commitments
• Specifying facilities and equipment performance and design criteria
• Defining and executing competitive bidding and project delivery strategies
• Communicating effectively with project teams and stakeholders

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, this role requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND (3) three years of experience in capital project management, process engineering, product engineering and/or manufacturing engineering in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

High School Diploma/GED AND (10) ten years of experience in capital project management, process engineering, product engineering and/or manufacturing engineering in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional Qualifications

• Subject matter expertise in automated manufacturing equipment and web‑handling (roll to roll) processes
• Demonstrated project management, communication, facilitation, influencing and teaching/coaching skills
• Ability to energize teams, promote teamwork and maintain positive morale
• Project leadership experience in laboratories and/or manufacturing plants
• Advanced degree (completed and verified prior to start) in an engineering discipline or technology management from an accredited institution

Work Location & Travel

Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Eagan, MN)

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international.

Compensation

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $106,000 - $145,750, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
