Edged Data Centers in the United States is seeking a CAPEX Accounting Manager to lead accounting, financial reporting, and controls for the capital expenditures across the data center portfolio.

The role partners with Development, Construction, Procurement, FP&A, and Project Controls to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting throughout the project lifecycle, driving improvements in controls and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification required.
  • 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience including 2–3 years at a Big Four firm.
  • Experience leading multi-entity month-end close and consolidation processes.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting external audits and coordinating with auditors.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accurate reporting.
  • Oversee close for operating expenses, debt, equity, intercompany transactions, and balance sheets.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
  • Ensure transactions comply with U.S. GAAP and policies.
  • Drive improvements in close processes, automation, and internal controls.
  • Manage accounting for construction loans, project financings, and debt costs.
  • Prepare debt rollforwards and equity transactions.
  • Collaborate with Treasury on financing and capital structure.

Overview

The CAPEX Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting, financial reporting, and controls related to capital expenditures across the company's data center development portfolio. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of capital project accounting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including the capitalization of construction costs, work-in-progress (CIP), fixed assets, and project closeout activities.

The CAPEX Accounting Manager partners closely with Development, Construction, Procurement, FP&A, and Project Controls to ensure capital investments are accurately tracked, forecasted, and reported throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical accounting background, experience supporting large-scale capital construction or infrastructure projects, and the ability to lead complex accounting processes while driving continuous improvements in controls, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting.
  • Oversee the accounting close for operating expenses, debt, equity, intercompany transactions, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by the accounting team.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Perform analytical reviews of balance sheet and income statement accounts, investigate variances, and ensure appropriate resolution of accounting issues.
  • Drive continuous improvements in the close process, including automation, standardization, and strengthening of internal controls.
  • Manage accounting for construction loans, revolving credit facilities, project financings, debt modifications, debt issuance costs, interest expense, and debt amortization.
  • Prepare and maintain debt rollforwards and supporting schedules.
  • Account for capital contributions, capital distributions, equity issuances, ownership changes, and other equity transactions.
  • Maintain equity rollforwards and capital account schedules.
  • Account for intercompany loans, capital calls, and financing transactions across multiple legal entities.
  • Partner with Treasury and Corporate Development on new financing transactions and capital structure initiatives.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA required.
  • 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years of experience with a Big Four public accounting firms
  • Experience leading the month-end close process in a multi-entity environment.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing consolidations and intercompany eliminations.
  • Experience supporting external audits and working directly with auditors.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).

Preferred

  • Experience in data centers, commercial real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy, construction, or other capital-intensive industries.
  • Experience working in a private equity-backed organization.
  • Familiarity with project accounting and joint venture accounting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across Finance and Operations.
