Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a 3rd Shift Clean & Cap Operator in Mentor. The role demands operating clean and cap lines, handling hazardous materials per MSDS, and maintaining equipment readiness for production.

The candidate should have at least 1 year in manufacturing, with a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. The position requires flexible hours, strong attendance, and teamwork to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; may be substituted by experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of stable manufacturing experience, preferably in chemical process or ceramic industry.
  • Experience with misc. hand tools, tables, racks, boxes, safety guidelines, feeds, grinders, inspection tools, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Clean & Cap equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Perform all clean and cap tasks, including mega dip, mold prep, dewax, flashfire, and expediting of special lots.
  • Meet efficiency standards as established by Engineering.
  • Record daily work and time distribution with correct operational codes.
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe following all safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
  • Maintain positive work atmosphere and collaborate with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Accept additional responsibilities as required.

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred and may be substituted by experience.

Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Work Experience

Minimum of 1 year stable manufacturing experience preferably in chemical process or ceramic industry. Must have experience with misc. hand tools, tables, racks, boxes, safety guidelines, feeds, grinders, inspection tools, etc.

Principal Area of Responsibility

The Operator in Clean & Cap must be able to perform operations and operate equipment efficiently in performing duties.

Specific Duties
  • Incumbent must handle hazardous waste in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and company policy.
  • Perform all clean and cap operations, including but not limited to: clean & cap tasks, mega dip, maintaining all automated equipment, mold prep, dewax, flashfire and special lot expediting.
  • Meet the specific requirements of the efficiency standard as established by Engineering.
  • Record, on a daily basis, all work performed and the correct distribution of the work time identifying same by operational codes.
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly, following all safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
Physical And Mental Demands
  • Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed below.
  • The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to pass a physical, vision, and hearing test.
  • Pass the visual acuity exam.
