Job summary

Yong Clinic in New York, NY / Brooklyn, NY / Staten Island, NY seeks a Cantonese-speaking Physician Assistant (PA) to support physicians in evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients.

The ideal candidate holds an NYS PA license, a Master’s degree, and fluency in Cantonese and English; experience in primary care is preferred.

This full-time role offers a competitive annual compensation of $150,000–$200,000 with a rotating schedule across locations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current New York State PA license and certification, or eligibility to obtain credentials.
• Fluency in Cantonese and English is required.
• Previous clinical experience in primary care or outpatient settings preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, patient assessment, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Evaluate and manage common acute and chronic conditions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests within scope of practice.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with New York State regulations.
• Monitor patient progress and coordinate follow-up care.
• Educate patients about diagnoses, medications, and preventive care in Cantonese and English.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated care.

Position Overview

Yong Clinic is seeking a qualified and patient-focused Cantonese-Speaking Physician Assistant (PA) to provide clinical care and support physicians in evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients healthcare needs. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication abilities, and fluency in Cantonese and English to serve the clinic s diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain patient medical histories, conduct physical examinations, and assess overall health.
• Evaluate and manage common acute and chronic medical conditions within the PA s scope of practice.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising or collaborating physicians, as applicable.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies within the provider s authorized scope of practice.
• Prescribe medications and provide treatment recommendations in accordance with applicable New York State regulations.
• Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and coordinate follow-up care.
• Educate patients about diagnoses, medications, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Communicate medical information, treatment options, and follow-up instructions in Cantonese and English.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with applicable healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
