Job summary

MBCLA is seeking a lead pastor for its Cantonese Congregation to provide vision and guidance, preaching and teaching in Cantonese, and to supervise other ministers and lay leaders. You will develop lay leaders and work with them to fulfill the church's mission, while offering pastoral care and directing evangelism locally and globally.

The role requires collaboration with Senior Pastor and church leadership, regular attendance at church governance meetings, and handling administrative duties as

Qualifications

• Master of Divinity Degree from an accredited theological seminary, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of ministry experience in a North American Chinese Church, or equivalent.
• Cantonese as primary language, proficiency in English, with Mandarin fluency considered a plus.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or valid authorization to work in the U.S.
• Ordained pastor preferred.

Responsibilities

• To provide vision and direction for the Cantonese Congregation under the guidance from the Senior Pastor and in alignment with the overarching vision of the church.
• To preach and to teach in Cantonese.
• To supervise and to equip other ministers and lay leaders serving in the Cantonese Congregation.
• To develop lay leaders and collaborate with them to achieve the missions of the Church.
• To provide pastoral care to the congregation.
• To lead evangelism efforts in the local neighborhood, nearby communities, and through global missions.
• To make disciples of Christ.
• To attend UDB and Church Council meetings.
• To perform relevant administrative duties as required to fulfill ministerial functions.
• To perform any other tasks as directed by the Senior Pastor.
