Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a part-time Canteen Attendant to manage the MMA canteen, serving cadets, families, and staff with friendly, professional customer service. This frontline role requires attention to detail and a positive attitude.

You will handle cash, operate the POS system, restock beverages, conduct daily inventories, and work with leadership to ensure sanitation and safety standards. Afternoons, evenings, weekends, and special events are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to operate or learn a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
• Strong cash handling and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and special events.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the MMA Canteen.
• Conduct all operations using the best in customer service standards with cadets, families, and employees.
• Ensure that the canteen is a pleasant place where cadets and others are treated with respect and a thoughtful attitude.
• Work with the quartermaster to insure a good plan for operating the canteen.
• Accountability of all transactions, particularly cash must meet the highest standards.
• Operate the canteen efficiently, keeping unnecessary inventory to a minimum.
• Use the POS (Point of Sale) system for all transactions.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, ensuring that all sanitation and health code guidelines are followed.
• Work directly with the Company Leadership Advisors to ensure cadets behave appropriately.
• Re-stock the beverages at the end of the shift so they are cold for the next day.
• Conduct daily inventories to verify accuracy and to recognize items that need to be re-ordered.
• Maintain, manage, and report inventory weekly to the quartermaster. To include recommendations of new items.
