Job summary

United States Army Reserve is seeking a Cannon Crewmember to operate howitzers, manage ammunition, and support infantry and tank units. You will learn to calculate targets and participate in reconnaissance operations, building essential field skills.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 6 weeks, four days of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, OK, with classroom and field components to simulate combat conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be 17–40 years old
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Submit to background and medical screening, and pass ASVAB

Responsibilities

• Communicate over wire and radio.
• Identify target locations and calculate firing data.
• Operate self-propelled howitzers and ammunition vehicles.
• Participate in reconnaissance operations.
