Job summary

Minnesota Cannabis Services is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead daily operations on the dispensary floor, support store leadership in driving performance, manage cash and inventory, and ensure a compliant, customer-first environment. You will oversee operations, coach staff, maintain SOPs, and ensure consistent customer experiences

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail, hospitality, or customer service experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Cannabis industry experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Comfortable in a highly regulated, compliance-driven environment.
• Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Meet state requirements for employment in a licensed cannabis facility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations and ensure adherence to SOPs and policies.
• Manage shift coverage, staffing adjustments, and timesheet accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with state cannabis regulations and internal procedures.
• Support change management and train SOP updates for staff.
• Open/close petty cash, reconcile reports, and ensure POS accuracy.
• Receive deliveries, restock products, and manage inventory levels.
• Supervise and coach retail staff; conduct training and performance reviews.
• Coach budtenders on product knowledge, service standards, and compliance.
• Complete end-of-day reporting and track customer complaints.
• Report HR matters and disciplinary actions to leadership.
