Planet 13 in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to support QA activities including start-up verifications, in-process checks, and documentation reviews across cannabis and infused products. The role involves sampling, inspections, and collaboration with operations to drive quality improvements.

The position requires a relevant degree with 1–5 years of experience in a highly regulated setting and a strong ability to follow procedures, communicate clearly, and work flexible

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, 1-3 years’ experience or Associates Degree, 5+ years’ experience
• Highly desirable: healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods (food), cannabis
• Prior experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control
• Experience with sampling, inspection procedures, customer complaints, investigations, and CAPA
• Ability to follow and update written procedures with site operations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented and able to troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends as required
• Must comply with state/local medical marijuana regulations

Responsibilities

• Performs finished product sampling and inspection
• Performs equipment and product line clearances before production runs
• Performs in-process verifications for weights, labeling, and packaging
• Inspects finished products and retain samples
• Assists in customer complaints and product investigations, identifying root cause and quarantine
• Inspects packaged orders for content and quantities
• Reviews in-process batch documentation for compliance and SOPs
• Monitors GMP and SQF guidance compliance
• Follows safety rules and SOPs; may travel to other states/facilities for inspections
