Job summary

Maryland Cannalytics in Westminster, MD is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Technician to support our state-licensed cannabis testing laboratory in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Meet Maryland cannabis employment requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience; OR 1 year + skills assessment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow SOPs in a regulated lab.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, and LIMS.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing of cannabis products using culture and qPCR methods.
• Test for TAMC, TYMC, BTGN, E. coli, and Salmonella.
• Prepare samples using aseptic techniques and maintain integrity.
• Prepare and document reagents, media, and testing materials.
• Ensure compliance with Maryland regulations and ISO/IEC 17025.
• Maintain accurate GDP records and documentation.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance.
• Maintain chain-of-custody and cannabis tracking.
• Utilize LIMS and MS Office for documentation and reporting.
• Assist with method verification, validation, and QA initiatives.
• Maintain lab inventory of supplies and reagents.
• Support sample intake and workflow activities.
