Job summary

System One is seeking a Lab Analyst for an onsite contract-to-hire role in Mt. Laurel, NJ. The candidate will perform analytical testing in a regulated laboratory, operate HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, and microbial platforms, and ensure accuracy and quality per SOPs.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in a scientific field and 1–2 years of analytical lab experience, with attention to safety and documentation. Cannabis testing experience is a plus, and some training may be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related scientific field required.
• 1–2 years of analytical laboratory testing experience, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Follow state regulations, ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Operate laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, microbial platforms).
• Conduct analytical testing of cannabis samples per SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Perform calibrations and routine maintenance on instruments.
• Analyze data and prepare reports with proper documentation.
• Maintain clean, organized workspace and proper sample custody.

Job Title: Analytical Lab Tech

Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ

Type: Contract To Hire

Work Model: Onsite – onsite

Hours: Mon-Fri; 8am-4:30pm

Pay Rate: $29-31/hr

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related scientific field required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in analytical laboratory testing, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Must have testing experience in using HPLC, GC-MS, and ICP-MS
• Follow all applicable state regulations, ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, and laboratory SOPs.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, including proficiency testing.
• Maintain clean, organized workspaces and properly store reagents, standards, and samples.
• Adhere to safety protocols including the proper use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals and cannabis materials.
• Operational Support
• Assist in the development and validation of analytical methods as needed.
• Provide training to Laboratory Technicians or new Analysts as directed.
• Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
• Cannabis testing experience is a plus

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Proficient in the operation of laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, microbial platforms).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and LIMS software.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions.
• Conduct analytical testing of cannabis samples using designated instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, microbial platforms).
• Perform calibrations, system suitability checks, and routine maintenance on laboratory instruments.
• Analyze data, interpret results, and prepare reports in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate chain-of-custody and testing documentation.
• Troubleshoot basic instrument and method issues under the guidance of senior staff or management.
