Job summary

Ace Hardware Home Services is hiring an HVAC technician to service residential systems with a focus on accuracy and customer satisfaction. You will diagnose, repair, and balance HVAC units, document work, and help customers understand improvements to comfort and efficiency.

Eligible candidates have 3+ years of HVAC experience, EPA Universal Certification, and a valid driver's license with a clean record. The role requires a team mindset and the ability to perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service through efficient and accurate repair of residential HVAC systems.
• Balance and solve airflow, fuel, refrigerant, and electrical issues using diagnostic tools.
• Maintain logs of work performed and truck inventory.
• Educate customers on home comfort improvements and energy efficiency.
• Mentor junior technicians and follow all company processes.

Compensation Details: $25.00 per hour plus commission

What You’ll Do

Provide an exceptional experience through efficient and accurate service and effective communication. Maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all residential equipment including traditional forced-air systems, steam, and hot water-based systems, oil, high velocity, ductless and more. Utilize specialized diagnostic tools to balance and solve traditional airflow, fuel, refrigerant, and electrical challenges presented in residential equipment. Maintain accurate logs of all work performed & required truck inventory necessary to complete all flat-rate repairs. Educate and inform customers on improvements to the comfort, efficiency, or safety of their homes. Assist in the development of junior service technicians. Follow all companywide systems and administrative details as they relate to the service department.

What you need to succeed

Minimum 3 years of HVAC experience.

Strong knowledge of HVAC industry best practices and building codes.

EPA Universal Certification.

Valid Driver’s License and Clean MVR.

A valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of US driving experience is required for this role.

Physical Requirements

Physically able to work on HVAC units - Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders. Ability to work outside; exposed to heat and cold. Ability to hear and speak to exchange information.
