Job summary

Texas A&M University Health Science Center in Houston seeks a Research Assistant to provide skilled, administrative, and technical support in translational cancer research. Qualifications

• Appropriate bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, animal science or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Experiments: conducts experiments and technical procedures; modifies procedures to suit research needs.
• Experimental Procedures: maintains rodent colonies; administers treatments; monitors responses; conducts biopsy and tissue harvesting.
• Data Analysis: prepares data for analysis; organizes inventory and equipment; orders supplies.
• Writings/Publications: assists in writing and editing scientific material for publication.
• Meetings: participates in lab meetings and cross-departmental projects.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field (preferred)
