Responsabilités

• Examine medical and pathology records to code history, diagnosis, treatment, and health status for malignant/neoplastic diseases.
• Capture and report data from all medical facilities treating cancer patients.
• Compile reports for monthly submission to Mississippi Cancer Registry.
• Abstract medical records into standardized codes recording patient history, diagnosis, treatment, and current health status.
• Maintain current cancer information database for research and improved cancer prevention and screening.
• Submit Edit Reports to NCDB, RQRS, and Mississippi Cancer Registry; abstracting medical records accordingly.
• Coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure timely and accurate registry data and follow-up with registry patients.
