Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Tumor Registry professional to organize, maintain, and operate the Cancer Registry System, ensuring accurate demographic, diagnostic, staging, and treatment data for cancer patients. You will coordinate Tumor Conference activities with physicians and provide a reliable data index for medical staff use.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; two years of college or accredited record technician experience preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, behavior of benign and malignant tumors, staging and coding systems.
• Two years experience in a CoC-accredited hospital-based oncology registry/cancer program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, maintains, and operates the Tumor Registry System for the hospital.
• Maintains a registry of cancer patients with demographic, diagnostic, staging and treatment data.
• Coordinates Tumor Conference activities with physicians for case review and data quality.
• Provides a working index of statistical data for medical staff and registry use; complies with hospital policies and Cancer Life Program guidelines.
