• Abstract core information from patients' medical records, including demographics, diagnosis and treatment.
• Perform data checks and maintain accurate cancer registry entries.

Responsibilities

• Abstract core information from patients' medical records including demographic characteristics, diagnosis, extent of disease and treatment into the cancer registry software program (Oncolog).
• Accurately identify and accession cancer cases, reportable benign brain and reportable by agreement cases from established hospital sources.
• Conduct patient follow-up and coordinate weekly activities for cancer conferences; prepare reports as needed.
• Contribute cancer registry data for Phoenix Children's reports.
• Coordinate and support two weekly cancer conferences (Center for Cancer and Brain Tumor Conference).
• Submit reports to medical education department for ACCME-accredited CME tumor conferences; manage weekly sign-ins and notices.
• Write and maintain policy and procedure manual for Cancer Registry operations.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as requested.
