The Cancer Program Coordinator, ODS-C (Oncology Data Specialist- Certified) (Formerly CTR, Certified Tumor Registrar) is responsible for collaborating with the appropriate health care team in ensuring documented patient care for patients undergoing cancer treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy) from diagnosis through post therapy follow-up as part of the cancer program requirements ensuring accuracy and compliance with recommended guidelines. The Cancer Program Coordinator, ODS-C is responsible for assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the cancer program as it pertains to obtaining and maintaining accreditations. The CPC- ODS-C works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure a high quality of care with excellent outcomes and seamless program integration and facilitate effective communication in meeting with the high standards set forth by the TGH Cancer Institute.
The Cancer Program Coordinator, ODS-C exercises independent judgement and utilization of knowledge and skills to provide support services to these specified oncology site departments working towards implementation of required standards to meet accreditation requirements. In addition, the Cancer Program Coordinator, ODS-C is accountable for overseeing the following: committee meetings, documenting minutes, supporting quality initiatives, generating reports, and fostering collaboration among teams by sharing pertinent information to achieve further accreditations and maintain those once obtained. The CPC-ODS-C will understand the premise of all cancer data collected from Tampa General Hospital and will assist in maintaining all regulatory compliance set forth by the state, federal and national accrediting body requirements. The CPC- ODS-C will work in conjunction with the cancer registry in ensuring timely abstracting is processed for the specific site assigned and ensure that any RCRS/NCDB measures are followed and compliant. The CPC-ODS-C is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
