Job summary

G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc. is seeking a Can Production - Machine Operator to ensure machines are set up and operated to our standards.

You will handle palletizers, depalletizers, case packers and related equipment while ensuring correct packaging sizes and quality materials. The role requires a High School diploma or GED with 0–1 years of operator experience; strong attention to safety, accuracy, and teamwork; and the ability to read, write and perform basic math.

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED.
  • 0–1 years of machine operator/production line experience; beverage production preferred.
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently and independently; multi-task and communicate clearly.
  • Read and write; perform basic math; follow safety policies (OSHA, AIB, Pepsi standards).
  • Willingness to train on operating palletizer, depalletizer, case packer, labeler and related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operates production machines and ensures correct specifications (package size).
  • Runs correct raw materials for product, performs material and machine changeovers.
  • Follows safety policies and wears required PPE.
  • Communicates status, issues, and questions to supervisor and team.
  • Performs code checks, taste tests and production reports; completes paperwork.
  • Maintains clean work area and performs minor machine maintenance.

Can Production - Machine Operator (Finance)
Position Summary

To serve our internal and external customers by ensuring that production machines are set up and operated according to established company standards

Essential Functions
  • Operates production machine (e.g. palletizer, depalletizer, denester, case packer) according to established company standards; ensures machine is set for correct specifications (e.g. package size).
  • Ensures that the correct raw materials (e.g. bottles, cans, caps, lids) are run through equipment according to product being produced and that quality of raw materials meets established company standards; performs raw material and machine changeovers.
  • Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures (e.g. OSHA and safety requirements, AIB and Pepsi standards, Federal/State/Local laws); wears all required personal protective equipment.
  • Communicates with co-workers, supervisor and management team verbally regarding the status of work activities (e.g. any issues with equipment, product quality and production process) and other information; supervisor regarding questions or issues with daily assignments.
  • Performs code checks, taste tests and other quality tests; calculates efficiencies.
  • Completes code check reports, taste test reports, production reports, time off requests and other required paperwork according to established standards.
  • Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as needed to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.
  • Performs minor adjustments and maintenance to machine to ensure it is operating according to established standards.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area (e.g. cleans up any product and/or container spills; disposes of trash and recycling materials into proper containers).
Education

High School or GED required

Experience

0 - 1 years of m achine operator and/or production line experience; previous beverage production experience strongly preferred.

Other Requirements

Knowledge of: beverage production process; beverage industry. Skill in: internal customer service. Ability to: work quickly, efficiently and independently; multi-task; communicate effectively with other employees and develop good working relationships; adapt to change; read and write; perform basic math functions (e.g. addition and subtraction); be trained on operating a computer, palletizer, depalletizer, case packer, labeler, coder and other mechanical equipment.
