Job summary

ACF Church in Alaska is seeking a Campus Worship Associate who will shepherd worship across campus and lead Youth Culture worship weekly. You’ll recruit students, develop musical gifts, and shepherd them spiritually while pursuing musical excellence.

The role includes leading YC services, planning events with YC leadership, and maintaining planning systems. You’ll also support special events and collaborate with the Worship Pastor as a strong No. 2 in ministry duties.

Qualifications

1 year of worship leadership experience.
Leadership skills to recruit and develop teams.
Strong vocal ability and instrumental proficiency (guitar/keyboard).
DAWs familiarity: playback software such as Ableton, Pro Tools or Logic.
Basic understanding of music theory.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

At ACF, our vision is to see it “In Alaska as in Heaven,” and our mission is to “Amplify the Grace of Jesus to the Churched, Unchurched, and Dechurched.” The Campus Worship Associate is more than just a vocalist or musician - they’re a shepherd who is as passionate about discipleship as they are about musical excellence. Throughout the week they will work with the Worship Pastor to strategize how best to lead the ER campus in a culture of worship.

The Worship Associate will also take primary responsibility for leading and develop our Youth Culture (YC) worship team – recruiting students into that worship ministry, pouring into their musical giftings and abilities, shepherding them spiritually and pastorally, and ultimately developing a hunger to experience and worship God amongst our student body generally.

This role exists to disciple and develop worship teams who are just as passionate about leading people to Jesus as they are about musical excellence - cultivating an authentic, Christ-centered worship culture, committed to worship and to ministry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Worship Support for Weekly Campus Services

Be available to support weekly services at the Eagle River campus at the discretion of the Worship Pastor – either vocally, instrumentally, music directing, logistical support, etc.
Act as the Worship Pastor’s “No. 2” and be available to fill in as a campus worship leader when the Worship Pastor is unavailable.
Participate in the recruitment, audition, review, and onboarding processes for all new worship team members – student and adult – alongside the Worship Pastor.
Be an active participant in strategic planning associated with ministry growth and expansion projects as it pertains to the ACF Worship Arts ministries

2. Youth Culture worship

Lead YC worship services weekly. Including, but not limited to: scheduling worship teams, leading songs vocally, leading rehearsals, engaging students during the worship experience, and providing feedback to the team.
Work closely with YC leadership to plan out YC services and events
Recruit and develop students to participate in the YC worship team
Regular ongoing COVER and development of YC worship team members
Maintain YC Planning Center, update charts, MP3’s, lyrics, recordings, tracks rigs, backline equipment, scheduling of musicians, weekly communication, etc.

3. Special Events

Be available for leading, planning, and participating in worship for special events outside of the normal weekly rhythms (Christmas, Easter, worship nights, retreats, etc.)

Experience & Qualifications

Basic abilities in DAWs (Playback, Ableton, ProTools, Logic, etc.)
Basic working understanding of music theory

Experience working in a high-level touring environment, theater, or equivalent church ministry
Ability to sing and coach harmony
Capability and familiarity across multiple instruments: guitar, keyboard, drums, bass, etc.
Working knowledge of project management and church planning tools, such as: Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, Planning Center Online, WhatsApp, etc.
Some formal music education at the collegiate level
