Texas A&M International University in Laredo, TX, is seeking a Federal College Work Study-Community Service intern in the Office of Student Affairs. The role supports the Children's Advocacy Center of Laredo-Webb County with program operations and community outreach.

The position offers federal Work-Study eligibility, honors a $10.00 hourly rate, and requires regular commuting to the center, with some evenings or weekends possible.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours per semester for undergraduates, 3 credit hours for graduates).
• Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates and 3.0 for graduates.
• Must have a current and complete file with the Office of Financial Aid.
• Must demonstrate financial need by submitting a FAFSA annually.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non‑citizen with an alien registration number.
• Must meet all other requirements per TAMIU's SAPP.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support, including preparing reports, organizing files, and assisting with financial documentation.
• Help develop and distribute educational materials for community outreach programs.
• Assist with children's activities, including art classes, special events, and other program-related activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and contribute to a professional and welcoming environment for children and families.
• Support coordination efforts with law enforcement, social services agencies, and other community partners.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas to support and improve advocacy programs.
