Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in victim advocacy.
  • Experience in human services, particularly with victims of interpersonal violence.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases by assessing urgency, safety concerns, and survivor needs.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and data security practices to protect sensitive client information.
  • Experience in assessing severity and urgency of cases and prioritizing referrals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed advocacy and support to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, and other violent crimes.
  • Assist survivors through the judicial process, including protective orders and criminal proceedings.
  • Support individuals reporting to University Police Department and the Title IX Office of Compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison between survivors and campus resources.
  • Collaborate with community partners to strengthen referral networks.
  • Educate the campus community on survivor rights and reporting options.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with laws and university policies.
  • Provide advocacy support to students living on campus (9,000+ residential students).
  • Collaborate with the Texas State University School of Social Work as needed.
