Job summary

UVA Transit in Charlottesville is seeking student drivers to operate a 35' transit bus on campus routes and support university events. You’ll gain hands-on experience in transit operations while balancing classes, with training to earn a Virginia CDL in your first semester.

Shifts are flexible around class schedules and include opportunities to advance, such as recruiting peers, becoming an intern, or training other drivers after two years with a CDL.

Qualifications

• Current UVA undergraduate student.
• No prior work experience required.
• Driver's license for at least one year with clean driving record and no DUI.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 35' transit bus on a fixed route and support university events.
• Complete training to earn a Virginia CDL within the first semester of employment.
• Maintain flexibility to accommodate class schedules and university events, including major games and ceremonies.
• Participate in shifts swapping with other drivers as needed.
