Job summary

Sumter School District Crestwood High School in Sumter, SC is seeking a Traffic Monitor, non-exempt, to manage student traffic and parking during school hours.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and the ability to walk and stand; you will follow oral and written instructions and communicate with students and the public.

This 185-day position runs from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and includes duties such as enforcing parking tags and reporting safety concerns.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Must be able to walk/stand and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions; interact with students and the public.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides traffic and parking control for the purpose of maintaining efficient traffic flow and use of parking lots.
• Responsible for parking tag enforcement.
• Maintains a presence in the parking lot to ensure student safety and reporting unsafe drivers to the appropriate administrative level.
• Operates two-way radio for the purpose of improving efficiency in the completion of job functions.
• Patrols grounds, adjacent areas, and parking lots for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students.
• Prepares documentation (e.g. student passes, incident and activity reports, security logs, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
• Refers incidents to appropriate site personnel (e.g. injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, etc.).
