Job summary

UCLA is seeking a qualified bus driver to provide transportation for students, staff, faculty and the public via shuttle programs and charter services. The role involves operating heavy duty and other passenger vehicles on and off campus, adhering to schedules, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Requirements include at least one year of bus driving experience, knowledge of California Vehicle Code, and excellent communication with passengers.

Qualifications

• One year minimum bus driving experience.
• Knowledge of California Vehicle Code driving laws.
• Ability to communicate politely and clearly with passengers.
• Maintain logs and records accurately.
• Operate PTT radio and/or cellular for communication.
• AVL system experience preferred.
• Safety training/certifications required.
• Experience with fueling and monitoring fuel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for students, staff, faculty and the public via shuttle programs and charter services.
• Drive heavy-duty buses, coach buses, trolleys, passenger vans and cars as assigned.
• Adhere to schedules and routes on campus and in greater Los Angeles area.
• Monitor vehicle performance and report maintenance needs.
• Ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
