The University of Maryland's Department of Transportation Services (DOTS) seeks a Shuttle-UM Bus Driver to provide safe campus transportation for students, staff, faculty, and guests. Under the Transit Operations Manager, you will operate medium and heavy-duty buses, perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and ensure vehicle readiness and cleanliness.

Qualifications

One year of driving experience.
Maryland Commercial Class B license with passenger endorsement.
Ability to operate buses in various weather/road conditions.
Ability to read/write and follow oral/written instructions; assist passengers.

Responsabilités

Operate transit vehicles (cutaway vans, 30’, 35’, 40’ buses) on routes or point‑to‑point services.
Prioritize passenger safety and provide courteous information to riders.
Represent UMD DOTS through quality customer service and community respect.
Adhere to schedules, policies, and respond to emergencies.
Comply with DMV regulations and DOTS safety guidelines.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety checks and report defects.
Maintain a clean, well-kept vehicle.
Able to work weekends, early mornings, and nights as needed.
Attend meetings and training sessions.
