Job summary

Butler County Community College is seeking a part-time Campus Security Officer to help ensure the safety of people and property on campus. The role requires on-call availability, with evening and weekend shifts and shifts when the college is closed.

Compensation is $22.19 per hour and relevant certifications must be maintained. Responsibilities include monitoring campus activity, responding to emergencies, managing traffic and parking, and conducting basic investigations while upholding college

Qualifications

• CPR & First Aid certification required prior to starting.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Favorable background check, physical and psychological evaluation, and drug screening required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security and safety of persons and property.
• Identify, report, and document potential security and safety hazards.
• Be observant and respond to potential unlawful or concerning activities and emergencies on campus.
• Maintain good public relations by assisting others as a source of information and direction.
• Control and regulate traffic and parking.
• Identify and report criminal or concerning incidents, safety, and traffic incidents.
• Conduct basic investigations.
• Respond to and assist in all medical emergencies within the guidelines of training.
• Assist in evacuation of buildings.
• Provide security escorts.
• Enforce Butler County Community College policies.

Butler County Community College (BC3) is currently accepting applications for a Campus Security Officer. This is a regular part-time position that will begin immediately. Hours may vary based on need. Evening and weekend hours will be required. Must be available to work on call, a variety of shifts including weekends, and when the College is closed.
