Job summary

Promega Corporation seeks a Security Officer to maintain safety across campus facilities. You’ll patrol premises, monitor surveillance, handle incidents, and ensure access controls are enforced.

Independent work is common, with reporting to the Manager of Corporate Security and collaboration with the Security Shift Lead. You’ll respond to medical incidents, document events, and coordinate with Facilities during on-call hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, familiarity with report writing.
• Capable of following complex instructions and maintaining confidentiality.
• Working knowledge of Wisconsin Law and local Ordinances.
• Working knowledge of computerized security and access control systems.
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
• Ability to operate PC, CCTV, card access and alarm systems.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency with digital tools and technology, including Microsoft apps.

Responsibilities

• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property and monitoring surveillance.
• Provide incident response for campus safety and emergencies.
• Assist with medical incidents, CPR and first aid when needed.
• Document incidents with timely written reports and notifications.
• Direct disruptive individuals to leave the property in a calm manner.
• Monitor entrances/exits and ensure proper access control.
• Share shift information with incoming personnel and maintain task continuity.
• Escort individuals from the building when appropriate.
• Assist facilities staff with unusual building occurrences.
• Attend trainings or meetings outside security hours.
• Complete special assignments from the Manager of Corporate Security.
• Demonstrate inclusion and uphold Promega’s 6 ESI principles.
• Comply with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
