Job summary

West Hills Community College District's Coalinga College is seeking a Campus Security Officer I - Temporary Substitute. The role pays $22.42 per hour and schedule runs Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am.

The officer patrols grounds and buildings to protect students, staff, visitors, and college property. Responsibilities include foot and vehicle patrols, enforcing parking rules, responding to emergencies, preparing incident reports, and coordinating with local police as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of security or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Valid first-aid card required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings, grounds, and roadways on foot and by vehicle.
• Guard property, inspect doors/windows, and enforce security procedures.
• Maintain active public presence to enhance safety and deter disturbances.
• Observe and report incidents; assist with detainment or coordination with police as needed.
• Prepare logs and incident reports; respond to emergencies and alarms.
• Direct traffic at events and assist with safe movement of people and vehicles.
