Job summary

Kamehameha Schools seeks a full-time Security Officer to support operations at the Kahaluu Makai location. This defined-term appointment ranges from 1 to 3 years, with responsibilities including CCTV monitoring, patrols, traffic and crowd control, and incident reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• Valid Hawaii Driver's license and driving abstract.
• Current DCCA Guard Employee License or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Current standard First Aid, CPR and AED certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Ability to work independently with a flexible rotating schedule including 24/7 availability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills for interaction with KS staff, students, parents, and the public.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email; ability to learn and operate CCTV systems.
• Typing and computer use for detailed incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provides security services including monitoring CCTV cameras and patrols of campus properties.
• Enforces traffic and parking regulations and manages crowd control at events.
• Responds to emergencies and uses de-escalation techniques when needed.
• Maintains safety through adherence to security protocols and procedures.
• Performs access control by restricting entry of unauthorized persons or vehicles and records entries/exits.
• Investigates and documents incidents with thorough written reports.
