Job summary

Caltech is seeking a Security/Dispatch Officer to ensure a safe campus environment for students, staff, faculty, visitors and guests. You will handle security calls, monitor access controls, maintain logs, and coordinate shift changes on a 4/10 schedule with rotating morning, day and evening watches.

Qualifications

• Must have basic typing/computer skills.
• Valid California Guard Card upon hire.
• CA driver's license upon hire.
• First Aid and CPR certifications are required.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds and walk stairs repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Protect campus facilities and personnel from unauthorized access, theft, or vandalism.
• Respond to security calls and investigate suspicious activities.
• Assist with alarm monitoring, dispatching calls, and directing inquiries to appropriate offices.
• Review security camera monitoring and access control data.
• Maintain logs and prepare reports per security guidelines.
• Support smooth shift transitions and coverage for 4/10 schedules.
