Qualifications

• Connecticut Guard Card is required.
• Post-secondary education or training in security, customer service, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.
• Current driver's license with clean driving record.
• First Aid/AED/CPR certified.
• Past law enforcement experience preferred.
• Ability to relate well to diverse populations.
• Ability to walk, run, climb stairs, bend and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of campus grounds and buildings to promote safety and security.
• Screen campus visitors and vendors through the visitor management system per safety protocols.
• Perform crosswalk duty at designated locations to support pedestrian safety.
• Monitor parking areas and assist with parking management as needed.
• Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards and facilities issues.
• Assist with lockdown procedures and safe operations during emergencies.
• Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance across campus.
• Provide first aid and emergency assistance within training scope.
