Job summary

Township High School District 214 is seeking a Campus Safety professional for a 40-hour/week evening shift (11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.) starting January 6, 2027.

The role focuses on supervising students outside classrooms, assisting staff with safety and discipline, and guiding campus visitors to ensure a secure environment. The position requires a high school diploma, CPI training, CPR/AED certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have physical ability to lift/move supplies, materials, and office equipment up to 40 lbs.
• Must sit at workstation for extended periods of time and/or move frequently from workstation to various other areas of building.
• Must organize and prioritize workflow.
• Must be proficient in the use of computers, office practices, procedures and office equipment.
• Must project a positive image of the district to students, staff and the general public as well as exhibit a positive employee attitude.
• Must demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills, and communicate clearly and respectfully with students, staff, parents, visitors and the general public.
• Must have awareness of a variety of student needs.
• Must hold a valid driver's license.
• Must complete district approved Crisis Prevention Institute training (CPI).
• Must have physical ability to move about frequently and quickly throughout the school campus.
• Must have possession of a valid Red Cross First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/AED Certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the efficient and effective functioning of the school including, but not limited to: supporting school safety and district crisis plans; responding to emergency or crisis situations for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns; promoting a safe school environment by observing and reporting behavior of students, parents and visitors on school property; promoting a clean school environment and ensuring policies are followed by supervising students outside classrooms; assisting visitors by helping them obtain a visitor's pass and directing them to the appropriate location; supporting and supervising students in non-academic settings; assisting students who appear ill or in distress by contacting parents or appropriate personnel; promoting a clean school environment and correcting misperceptions of others by modeling appropriate behavior; assisting the DHSSSW and SRO in escorting students to and from locations.
