Qualifications

  • Requires California P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate and 3 years of full-time law enforcement experience.
  • Associate’s degree or 60 units, or relevant experience in lieu of degree; P.O.S.T. Intermediate Certificate preferred.
  • Must pass background check, psychological examination, polygraph, and medical exam.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Community Safety Department staff and cadets; schedule shifts for full operation.
  • Receive and respond to complaints; investigate serious personnel issues and advise campus managers.
  • Respond to calls for service and emergencies; make arrests; prepare reports; appear in court as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports; oversee department paperwork and approvals.
  • Operate and maintain department equipment including vehicle, radio, body-worn camera, and safety gear.
  • Provide classroom presentations on safety topics and conduct trainings.
